Description: This is 113 year old handmade machinist tool box made in 1910. The all wood box is large, measuring just under 20"x12"x10" and is heavy - over 15 lbs. There are 3 drawers - one under the lid that lifts up and 2 lower pull-out drawers. The middle drawer has a divider, as shown in photos. There are two decorative metal (brass?) handles, one on each side. There is a lock and no key. There is a metal (tin, brass?) machinist decimal equivalents chart fastened to the inside of the top. On the inside front is engraved the owner's name, Banksville, PA and July 1910, also shown in photos. Banksville is a neighborhood in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (20th ward). The neighborhood of Banksville is located in the West End of the city and borders the South Hills region. Banksville, formerly a part of Union Township, was annexed into the city of Pittsburgh in 1907. This box shows its age, the top is warped and loose on the back right corner.
