Description: Antique Kestner 195 German Bisque Doll 19” c. 1892. Incised on the back of the head DEP 7 ½ 195. The pretty doll has large blue sleep eyes, painted lower lashes, inset fur eyebrows (one worn), blushed cheeks, an open mouth showing four upper teeth. The original wig is attached. The head has no cracks, chips, or blemishes. The original lower bisque arms & legs are in good condition. One thumb has a break on the inside of the hand. The right shoulder is missing the bolt to attach the arm, but the metal cross-body bar connecting the two shoulders is intact. Doll wears a 2-piece sleeveless top and skirt with matching pantaloons. She also has cloth stockings and leather boots. The clothing is apparently not original.
