Description: This is a beautiful, hand-painted, art-nouveau style bowl produced by the Johann Seltmann Vohenstrauss company in Bavaria, Germany. This version of the factory mint mark indicates that this particular piece was produced between 1901-1932, so this piece is probably at least 100 years old, a true antique. The handpainted design festures a lovely scence of beautiful swans and background scenery, painted in pleasing shades of greens, blues, greys, etc. It also festures shiny gold, gilded trim all around the edge. The piece is in very good condition, with no cracks, and very little wear or crazing, it does have a couple of small scratches or places consistent with age where the paint has worn. Also, it has a tiny area that looks to be a small flaw from the manufacturing process that was painted over with gold. Please look at the photos- they are an integral part of the description, and I pointed out the small flaws. Just an all-around beautiful, antique piece. It is a very good size, too.
