British Patent number 107562. Brevete S.G.D.G.Leather Case is present and reads Patent Hemmi's Slide Rule" in gilt lettering. Slide Rule is made from BAMBOOThe Metal plate on the back has cut out pictures of the Sun / Sunrise and "SUN" between them.Made in Japan by J. Hemmi.Probably made after 1928, since the slide rule is signed "Hemmi"The sliding transparent / line piece has a chip off one corner, the screw is still there; it will need some kind of repair; it slides okay. The rule has some age toning as pictured. The case has some wear / tear / stains (flap holder has one end detached). Sold as found, for restore.As for the name of the company on the back of the case, the building is still existent: Edison Storage Battery Company Building, is located at 177 Main Street and Lakeside Avenue in West Orange, Essex County, New Jersey, United States. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on February 28, 1996. The building was a manufacturing facility for Edison Storage Battery Company to make nickel-iron batteries developed by Thomas Edison in 1901. Manufacturing began around 1903 and was discontinued in 1975 when Edison Storage was sold to Exide. Please view the photos as they are part of the description.
