Description: Otto Gans, Hugo Seyfarth and Adolph Heller formed the G&S doll factory in Waltershausen Germany in 1908. By 1922 the partnership had dissolved. Gans formed his own factory and Seyfarth formed a new factory with Hugo Reinhardt. Not a lot has been written about the 14 year original partnership however this doll, a product of those early years, demonstrates the kind of quality doll produced during that time period. She stands 22" tall on her original composition body which has no repairs or repaint. Her bisque head is perfect with lovely painted features, blue glass sleep eyes with full mohair lashes. Her auburn wig is a perfect match to her coloring and is set in long curls. Her sweet sailor dress has an attached slip with lace ruffle at the hem. Her unders include white panties, hip high white cotton stockings. Her later shoes are in the style of old German doll shoes. She is marked on her head "G&S 4 Germany" and on her hip "Germany."
