Description: Antique biscuit doll by Cuno and Otto Dressel (marked 1912–4) after Dolls' Stories Hospital Brothers Cuno and Otto Dressel, form No. 1912-4, 1912 Poppy doll (schoolboy), German, 21 inches. The Dressel family toy and doll business in Sonneberg, Germany has a long history, passing from one generation to the next, and by 1873 the company was known as the Cuno and Otto Dressel Factory. I describe the history of the creation of this and other porcelain dolls in a German factory on my website. In my hospital, the doll was completely cleaned, the elastic cords were replaced, the covering of the doll's body was strengthened and restored, the restored eye mechanism was installed, a pate was created to cover the head opening, and underwear was sewn to the doll's measurements. The porcelain head of the doll is without cracks, and the body with traces of time looks by the age of the doll covered with natural lacquer. When working on the restoration of the doll, technologies, and natural materials were used that fully correspond to the period of creation of the doll itself (early 20th century). Doll in excellent post-restoration condition in underwear. At your request, it is possible to create an image of a playful boy for him. Just let me know. A great addition to your collection for you and your heirs.
