Indeed, one of the first instructions to salesmen from the publisher, L.V. Zahn of Dayton, Ohio, was to thoroughly read the "specimen" book so as to know its contents in and out. We believe this is such a specimen. Very interesting and unusual book that provides a great window into the rather cut-throat world of publishing circa 1923.
