Description: Seller: Alley-Antiques DESCRIPTION: Antique Victorian Child's Convertible High Chair Stroller. Circa 1890. Solid walnut. Chip carved. Turned spindles. Original cane seat. Original cast iron wheels with traces of its gold paint. Original deep tray that lifts up. Pull the knob on the back unlocks the chair and allows it to be lowered to a stroller type wheeled low chair( never had a handle to push like a stroller, so might be more of a push low chair). Now days this would be for display only or to show off dolls, as these old high chairs just are not up to code. Has a great primitive look. You will see a lot of oak convertible high chairs, but walnut one are much more scarce. Antique. Over 100 years old. Original finish. Structurally solid. Pull knob to raise and lower chair works. Nice patina on wood and metal. Cane seat has a couple pieces loose/broken near front (pictured). The tray has been off near ends and repaired long Go,( pictured and solid). Upon close inspection you may notice minor scuffs, dings, and scratches on the wood typical for age and use. This is now ONLY for display or display of dolls due to age. Measures about 40 1/2" tall at extremes when up and about and 18" wide at extres and about 22" deep wheel to wheel. Pictures considered part of description. FedEx shipping. Shipping includes insurance and tracking. If a piece is not dated, the exact date is approximate and a guestimate. Thank you. BID WITH CONFIDENCE .
