Description: Rare original January 1850 volume of the American Journal of the Medical Sciences. It contains a variety of interesting articles including Medical and Surgical Notes of Campaigns in the War with Mexico, Cases of Poisoning with Oil of Tansy, Construction of Hospitals for the Insane, Cases of Delerium Treatments, Cases of Empyema, Treatment of Vesico-Vaginal Fistula, Remarks on Atelectasis Pulmonum, Quarterly Summary of the Improvements and Discoveries in the Medical Sciences, etc. The book is overall in good condition with some signs of wear and age. The covers have some moderate wear. The binding is good and sound. The interior is toned from age with some foxing and occasional minor staining. Along with that there may be the very occasional page with some kind of other minor imperfection such as a tiny chip or tear, creased page corner, etc. Generally though, it's a good copy. The book measures approximately 9 inches by 5 3/4 inches with the pagination running from pages 1-286. Please look at all of the photos to further note the condition.
