Description: Here is what I believe to be a NOS (new old stock) Ampex Fast Forward button cap for an MM1000, or VR2000 transport. There is zero sign of wear, and the all important single spline alignment tab is intact. Without this, the button orientation will rotate with use. If your button cap doesn't stay in the correct position, your tab is broken (you already know that). This may be your only chance to fix that by installing a NEW cap! Please inspect the photos, and decide if this will work for your application. The last photo shows an identical button cap as installed on my MM1000. They look the same to me as the VR2000 video machine that was used as the basis for the design of the MM1000 Master Maker 16 track I own. This came from a bunch of Ampex parts I bought from the estate of an Ampex service tech several years ago.
