Description: Well, first let me say grading and researching sterling silver is not my day job. I am just beginning to clean out our house for our eventual move to warmer and less taxed climes. This fork belonged to my grandmother, then my mother and now me. From research, I think the maker is Alvin and the pattern Gainsborough . If I am wrong all you experts out there, PLEASE set me straight. The fork has NOT been cleaned. I have been told NOT to clean the silver and leave that to the buyer. Otherwise, in nice condition considering how old the fork is and it has been used. The total length of the is about 7 1/8". I have 12 forks. Some are more tarnished than others. The fork has the monogram. Although the monogram is clear, I really can't interpret the script. I think it is an "H"??? Perhaps you have better eyes than me so please look at all the photos (if you need more let me know). Ask any questions you may have before you buy. I try to describe everything the best I can. Thanks for taking the time to stop by and look.
