The advantage here over a self contained patchbay with rear connections is the convenience of mounting the panel to a rack that you can access. Make your full, half, or no normal jumpers right on the panel. Aluminum shelf with tie points for cable management. These ran close to $1000 when new. Pulled from a decommissioned broadcast studio where they only existed to patch around equipment that failed. Rarely used. All old wiring removed, cleaned and ready for your studio install.
