Description: Here is a rare vintage Ilex Paragon Anastigmat f4.5 Series A Focus 12 Inches 8x10 Diffused Soft Focus Large Format Lens. The rotating diffusion effect at the front of the lens turns fine. The lens is sold "as-is" as it does have some issues. I don't see anything wrong with the diaphragm visually but I can't get it to move at all. I didn't want to try to hard as I didn't want to break it. The lens body shows wear so it looks like it would do well to take it apart and clean it thoroughly to try and get the diaphragm working and clean the inside of the glass. The outside condition of the glass looks good but I can see some internal dust and wear. It does have its mounting flange. I read up on the lens and it looks like it works similar to the Wollensak Series II Soft Focus lenses. A nice early soft focus lens. Buyer pays shipping and the shipping quote includes insurance.
