Description: Here you get 6 Pawpaw tree seeds that were harvested in the wild. These fruits are delicious and have a wonderful flavor that is difficult to describe. Some people say it’s a mix something between a banana and mango and have a custard like texture. These trees are native to the US (zone 5 – 9) and their range extends as far north as the southern portion of Ontario, Canada. In the United States, pawpaw is native to the eastern, southern, and midwestern states, ranging from New York westward to southeastern Nebraska, southward to eastern Texas and the panhandle of Florida. Since you should not let the seeds dry out, they should be planted outdoors in fall, so Mother Nature can take care of them. Direct sow them and they will naturally stratify over the winter and sprout the following summer. Cover them lightly (1/2 inch) with soil. Water the seeds and keep the soil moist throughout the germination process. It takes about two to three months for the seeds to germinate. Otherwise if you can’t plant them in the fall, keep them in your fridge and cold stratify them for several months till you can plant them in spring. It’s always a good idea to plant two trees close to each other for cross pollination. You can expect your first harvest after 6 years from planting the seeds. After these seeds were cleaned and kept damp, I have been storing them in the fridge since the end of September 2024.
