The Hypogeum of Ħal Saflieni is a Neolithic subterranean structure dating to the Saflieni phase in Maltese prehistory, located in Paola, Malta. It is often simply referred to as the Hypogeum, literally meaning "underground" in Greek. The reverse shows the common €2 side while the obverse (national side) shows a representation of Ħal Saflieni Hypogeum. The outer ring of the obverse bears the 12 stars of the European flag.
