Description: Up for sale, a 1985 Kramer Baretta in perfect working order, finished in rare custom color Candy Blue. Among the most ubiquitous and iconic ‘80s Superstrats, the Baretta was inspired in part by Eddie Van Halen’s legendary custom 5150. Assembled at the Neptune, NJ factory, this Candy Blue Baretta features a single slanted Seymour Duncan JB humbucker and “banana” headstock, outfitted with a replacement Floyd Rose-licensed Jackson tremolo. The Baretta features a basswood body, maple neck, and slab 22-fret rosewood fretboard, weighing 7lbs 13oz. The JB is Duncan's original hot-rodded humbucker: the low end is full and powerful, the highs are crisp and detailed, and there’s an upper-midrange bump that adds crunch and chunk to heavy chords that translates to a singing, vocal-like quality when playing single notes or solos. This particular JB was wound by the venerable “Queen of the SD Custom Shop,” Maricela Juarez, as identified by the “J” on the baseplate sticker. Juarez has wound pickups for countless legendary artists including Eric Clapton, Billy Gibbons, George Harrison, and Slash, to name just a few. This Baretta has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, slinky action, and accurate intonation. Neck Specs: -Wood: Maple -Shape: Slender C, measuring .800” 1st fret, .930” 12th fret -Fretboard: Rosewood slab, 22-fret -Frets: Medium jumbo (refret), faint wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-3 -Scale Length: 25 1/2” -Nut: 1.650” (42mm), locking -Headstock: Banana -Tuners: Schaller, black -Serialization: E-prefix serial on Neptune, NJ neck plate Body Specs: -Wood: Basswood -Pickup: Seymour Duncan JB, (JBJ sticker on baseplate) -Hardware: Floyd Rose-licensed Jackson-branded tremolo (replacement), dome-topped knurled knob The gloss Candy Blue finish is a very rare option, exhibiting some dings along the lower bout perimeter, very limited buckle worming on the back, and some additional minor marks and pick wear on the body as a whole. The neck profile has a smooth satin finish, with a few shallow nicks along the profile length that don't distract the palm while fretting. A Roadrunner padded gigbag is included.
