Description: 1960 Conn 48H “Connstellation” professional trombone. Serial # 885341. Made with the same specs as the famous Conn 6H tenor horns (.500 bore, etc.), except it has a nickel-plated bell. This is the kind of horn James Pankow used on the CHICAGO TRANSIT AUTHORITY record in 1969. This particular horn is well used. It has a lot of wear (see photos). Dent in tuning slide does not affect intonation. Some spots of typical “Conn rot” on inner slide tubes, and it is obvious that the neck pipe was shortened slightly and repaired before I acquired the horn... hence, the low price. BUT…the slide is fast when properly lubed, and the horn still sounds great. Water key is solid. I’m selling it because I have a 6H already, so this one is just sitting in my closet. Mouthpiece not included. Will come packed securely in its original case (which is in good shape). Will ship, but local pick-up preferred. Would rather not ship internationally—too much hassle. Hoping to send it to a good home.
