Description: This is a Bolex H-8 Standard 8mm mechanical movie film camera, manufactured in 1951. It features a rotating turret with three D-mount lenses, the specifications and details of the included lenses are below. It includes the side-mounted tri-focal viewfinder, as well as the winding arm, but not the rewind key. As a note, the re-winder can be manipulated directly, so the key isn't strictly necessary, and replacements can be had here on eBay for <$10. The camera can operate at frame rates of 8, 16, 24, 32 and 64 frames per second, and seems to smoothly and accurately rotate through those settings. It takes 100ft (30m), 50ft (15m) and 25ft daylight loading spools of double run 8mm film, allowing for a maximum of ~10-15 minutes of footage on a single roll. Although no film has been put through this camera, all functionality seems to be intact. Please see photos and video for a full review of functionality. All functions that can be tested without film seem to work as they should. The camera winds without resistance and seems to reliably shoot and shift between all frame rates. The trigger button is seemingly ever so slightly sticky, and will sometimes stay pressed down (although not enough to continue shooting) after having been released. The camera is in good aesthetic condition, with some slight scuff marks to the leather covering in a few small areas, the largest area of which is on the tri-focal viewfinder. The optics of the camera itself, such as the viewfinders, are all fairly good, with some small dust particles caught between elements. The optics of the lenses seems good as well, and all lenses seems to be in good working order. See photos and video for more details. Note: no effort has been made to restore this camera, and it will likely need to be mechanically cleaned and tuned before professional use. Sold as-is.
