This is an original press photo. The eighty-nine foot Brigantine Florence C. Robinson, with eleven young adventurers aboard sets out to go on a 7,700-mile voyage to Tahiti, where the cumbersome little craft with be turned over to a copra trader. The oldest of the crew's company is Lawrence O'Toole, 30 years old, an artist. The youngest is 22 years old. The little vessel was built in Ceylon of teak and other native hardwoods. She is 89 feet. Her sails are of 19-foot beam, and draws 8 feet. Her sails are of hemp instead of canvas.
