Description: Product Details:This is an ungraded note. You will receive the note pictured. You are purchasing a 1934 Funny Back Silver Certificate, Circulated. Note Features:FR# 1606Known as a Funny Back noteSigned by: Julian | MorgenthauSeal Color: Blue1934 Silver Certificate Starting with the Series 1934 silver certificates, the wording was revised to state, "This certifies that there is on deposit in the Treasury of the United States of America X dollars in silver payable to the bearer on demand." This change allowed the Treasury to stop storing bags of silver dollars and instead redeem silver certificates with bullion or silver granules. The one-dollar silver certificates from the 1928 and 1934 series became known as “funny backs” due to the design on the reverse. This nickname arose from the notably lighter green ink used on the back and the unusually large font for the word "ONE" featured prominently in the center. The front of the note displays a portrait of George Washington, the first president of the United States. This is an excellent note to add to your collection.Add this note to your cart today!
