Baseball cards picturing oldtimers, commemoratives and reprints were the staples of a company by the name of The Card Memorabilia Associates, Limited (TCMA) for several years. The company produced many outstanding products and among their finest was this card issued in 1983. Measuring approximately 2-3/4 by 3-1/2 inches and resembling the popular 1950 Bowman Gum cards, it is made from an original painting by artist Robert Steven Simon. It depicts a New York Yankee All-Star, one of many over the first 50 years of All-Star games. The reverse side features an excellent word-picture of the player. The original of this card was presented to the player and/or his family on "Old Timers' Day 1983".
