Description: 1926 Vintage Press Photo.A rescue crew entering the Rogers Entry of the Roane Mine at Rockwood, Tennessee where 28 miners were trapped by a gas explosion. The men were trapped in a three mile depth and thirteen of the 28 victims have been recovered after rescuers worked in relays for more than 36 hours before the first bodies were found.
