A series of letters and papers from the leaders of Peru in the 16th century, edited and complied by Roberto Levillier. Uniformly bound in paper binding, with illustrated front and rear boards. Volume XII and XIII published by Sucessores de Rivadeneyra. Roberto Levillier was a Argentine diplomat and historian,. Serving as an diplomat across Europe, he would later pursue a career as a historian, receiving a lifetime achievement award from National Academy of History of the Argentine Republic. CONDITION In a paperback binding. Externally, smart. Creases to the spine of each volume. Bumping to the head and tail of each spine, and also to the the extremities. Bumping has resulted in numerous small tears to the front and rear boards, no more than 1cm, to each volume. Larger tear to the front board of volume XIV, to the tail towards the front joint, no more than 3cm. The front board of volume VIII is chipped to the tail. Crease to the front board of volume XIII, alongside a small tear to the front board. Spotting to the spine of volume VI. Spotting to the topedge, foredge and bottomedge of each volume. Tear to the rear joint of volume VII, to the head, and also to the rear joint of volume VIII, also to the head. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally clean with the odd spot throughout. Spotting is heavier to the first and last pages of each volume. Numerous pages across each volume remain uncut. Large tear to the last few pages of volume VII, with a small tear to the head of the last page.
