Description: Offered for sale is a 1920's vintage double mantle table lamp sold by the Sunshine Safety Lamp Co. of Kansas City, MO. I believe this lamp dates to the early 1920's when they were rebranding lamps made by National Stamping and Electric (Nulite brand) as this has a red valve wheel which was characteristic of Nulite. In 1923, Sunshine Safety was sold to Coleman and the products became rebrands of Coleman lamps and lanterns. This lamp was originally a torch-light design and has been converted long ago to a match-light style with a Coleman Q70 burner. The air tube on the burner just has the single 1919 patent date which puts it somewhere in the 1920-22 timeframe. The lamp fount is clean inside, and the cap gasket has been replaced. The fount holds pressure overnight and passes air through the Q99 generator when the valves are opened. The fount has a couple dings and missing nickel. The finish bell has a crack as shown and the handle is missing its finish in places. Please view all the photos and ask any questions before purchase. The burner will be removed and packed carefully for safe shipping.
