Part of the Sea Green Mermaid Reimagined Vintage Collection, this is one of two pendants we transformed from a pair of earrings. This is a vintage mid-century modern piece by the famous American designer, Ed Levin. It features a domed gold half moon on top with a silver crescent moon suspended from it by two silver bars. The pendant is hinged - the silver half moon can move and swing back and forth. To my eye, this pendant evokes both the moon and the sun and the powerful symbolism of the circle. The back of the pendant is polished smooth, and each half moon bears the metal hallmarks.The pendant has a hidden bail to accommodate your chain. The pendant would look amazing with Ed Levin earrings, or with any gold or silver jewelry. **The chain is not included in the sale :) The item shows normal wear for a pre-owned piece (light scratches, dings, dents and scuff marks.)
