Some prints are highlighted by gum arabic and silver metallic paint. Lacking the large woodblock printed foldout which is usually present at the rear of this edition.Woven patterned cloth over wood covers.Printed in Japan but aimed at the English-speaking market.58pp. 25.8 x 18.5cm. The cover is worn and rubbed in places. The backstrip is missing.Internally the colourful illustrations remain very striking and vivid. There is some transfer of paint between pages in places and some age toning to most pages.There are two inscriptions at the front - one dated 1903 and the other 1888. There are a few pencil annotations within the book.Otherwise the volume is generally very good throughout. An opportunity to own an edition which is rarely available for sale.
