Williams & Co.; Boston. This copy contains an inscription dated 1889 on the front end paper from David Pulsifer (noted historian, and owner of the original manuscript) to his cousin, Royal Pulsifer. Gilt lettering and decoration on the front cover. Decorative floral end papers. The book is a poetic tribute to Washington with 20 Appendices. From the preface to the Poem: "(The author's) sole view in penning this Epistle is to express in the best manner he is able, the warm feelings of a grateful Individual towards that best of men, to whom He & every American will in all likelyhood be principally indebted for the establishment of the Independence & commercial prosperity of their dear Country."
