Description: 1865 VF/XF Indian Head Cent - Fancy 5MY COMMENTS: THE GOOD NEWS: Nice Original Looking Better Grade Fancy 5 Coin. There are two varieties of the 1865 cent. One has a Fancy Looking 5 in the date. The other has what is considered a normal looking 5. This is the Fancy 5 coin. Nice Color, Full Sharp LIBERTY. Very bold rims, Full Date, Nice Feather detail is showing, and lots of detail in the leaves on the reverse. NOTE: Many of the early Indians have weak Feather & Diamond Design details because the coins were weakly struck. There is some dirt around the design. This is common for many Indians. Please bid with confidence because I stand behind what I sell. THE BAD NEWS: The mark you see under the I in LIBERTY is an old ding into the coin. There are also 2 more on the reverse side. Sometimes things like this can be expected because these coins were used as real money long ago. Most coins have flaws, it's just a matter of what is acceptable for the grade.
