Not bad for being under 8,000' of Atlantic ocean for 131 years! These treasured coins were discovered in the wreck of the S.S. Central America 161 miles off the coast of Charleston, SC. They were then painstakingly recovered and sent off to be inspected, certified, and encapsulated by PCGS. 50 Centavos containing .3617 oz of Silver. Certified as S.S. Central America specimens by PCGS.Obverse: Displays enwreathed arms. Reverse: Features an Andean condor with open wings. Coins struck at Santiago Mint in 1854.
