1840 Braided hair large cent, small date over large date error variety.

Description: 1840-P Braided Hair Large cent. Small date over large date variety.Very scarce variety with perhaps only a couple of hundred in existence.This specimen is in extra fine to almost uncirculated condition and has a nice even dark brown patina on both the obverse and reverse of the coin.There are some corrosion spots visible under high magnification but really not noticeable or visually distracting with the naked eye.overall its in great condition and not bad looking for being 183 years old.The first 2 pictures are with a elikliv coin microscope zoomed just to fit the screen. the other photos beside the last 2 are with the same scope but zoomed to show the detail. The last 2 photos are with the camera phone and these show more the true color of the coin. Especially on the 1 and 8 digits in the date. The variety in general is very scarce with possibly a couple hundred known more or less.
