Veðrfölnir is sometimes modernly anglicized as Vedrfolnir, Vedurfolnir or Vetrfolnir. This 1oz copper round portrays the Great Eagle proudly keeping guard of the Nine Worlds. The eagle is known for its wisdom and knowledge of the events across the nine realms. The eagle is depicted with a small hawk sitting atop its head. The hawk travels the nine realms gathering information to bring back to its mammoth friend. Ratatoskr, a squirrel who causes derision between Nidhoggr (a dragon who gnaws at the root of the World Tree) and the Eagle, is pictured, anxiously awaiting new gossip to fuel the creatures’ animosity. Yggdrasil, the World Tree, is depicted on the reverse which displays this beautiful home of the Nine Worlds. Odin travels the trunk of the tree, visiting each of the worlds over which he reigns. A stag, raven, and serpent are a few of the woodland creatures who gather ’round Yggdrasil. “1 OZ AVDP .999 COPPER” borders the bottom of the reverse.
