Description: Ships registered mail only Choice XF 1788 Vermont Copper The Ford Specimen Ryder-22 1788 Vermont Copper. RR-22, Bressett 10-Q, W-2165. URS-7. Mailed Bust Right. EF-45 (PCGS). CAC. Hard and glossy deep golden brown with rose highlights. An immaculate coin from a standpoint of surface quality, as no extraneous marks are present. True, some central ticks are seen, but those simply represent the surface of the blank planchet that was untouched when the metal refused to flow into the design high points, and not problems as the uninitiated might surmise. Where struck the coin is sharp and full. The centering is fine with no real intrusions into the design by the rims on either side. Reverse die break and swelling noted at Liberty's feet, numerous raised die finish marks around her portrait. Choice for the grade with no reason to doubt otherwise. This will be a focal point in practically any Vermont copper collection. Provenance: Ex: John J. Ford, Jr. Collection.
